NESR--Successful Rescues

A dog is a huge investment in time and love;
please, make sure you educate yourself and invest wisely.

This is Gemma, a rescued English Shepherd & Border Collie cross now living in Vermont

This is Bandit, one of the first NESR rescue dogs. He found a home in 1997. So did 27 other dogs. In 1998 over 30 dogs found new homes. Since then we've rescued about 50 English Shepherds a year, helped ES with other rescues and shelters to find homes, and worked with owners so that their dogs have not had to be rescued.

Howie and Kona

Howie and Kona are both NESR rescues.  It took Howie a few weeks to really settle in to his new home.  This is the report from their new owners now.

I thought you would appreciate seeing how at times things have turned around here.  Now Kona goes after Howie, and just keeps at him until Howie says "enough". You can see in this picture how Howie lays down for Kona while Kona continues to "eat" him. Howie's head ends up all slobbery and then sticky.  Howie still growls on a regular basis at Kona and Kona goes down for him and then as soon as Howie leaves him and walks away, Kona gets up and follows.  They have really grown into great pals and bros. Thank you again for sticking with us through the beginning of Howie's arrival.  We certainly love them both more than we ever thought imaginable. --Pat
