
Sometimes breeders find themselves with adult dogs that need a new home. This can be for a variety of reasons. Many breeders require that people who buy puppies from them return the dog to them if it doesn't work out for any reason - moving, allergies, new baby, whatever. These breeders want to be sure their dogs do not end up in shelters or tied up forgotten in a back yard. In this case breeders can turn their dogs over to rescue to rehome or they can place the dogs themselves. It's also possible that a dog may not have worked out as a breeding dog or may be retired.
